Comp Tryouts- Update (6/19/2020)
Dear Sonoma Valley United Families,
Last week we communicated the postponement of our Fall Comp Tryouts. This was due to waiting on Sonoma County & the City of Sonoma to lift restrictions on the Shelter in Place order as well as opening field usage and guidelines as to how we can return to play in a safe way.
While we have received news that the Shelter in Place order has been lifted and we have finalized our “Return to Play Guidelines,” we unfortunately are still not able to use fields within the City or Sonoma Valley Unified School District.
We are submitting a proposal to the City to allow the use of the Field of Dreams facility. In accordance to NorCal Soccer guidelines, in completing tryouts by July 20th, we are rescheduling our Comp Tryouts for the weekends of July 11/12 & 18/19. We understand that many families have trips and other activities planned, as do coaches, but we will accommodate as much as we can to ensure every player who wishes to try out will have the opportunity to do so. Once we solidify the field and outline timeframes for each age group, we will send out an additional email, post on our website and social media page.
In regard to “Return to Play Guidelines”, these will be sent in a separate email as they relate to both competitive and rec programs.
