Dear Sonoma Valley United families and players.

A huge thank you to those who participated in our recent survey on the idea of holding small group clinics for the kids. The responses were overwhelmingly positive and supportive of the need for our kids to get outside and safely play some soccer!

Our current plan is to run a series of 4 one-hour clinics during the month of October for each of the following age groups: U8, U10, U12 and U14 (birth years 2014 – 2007). The clinics will take place on October 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st (yes a Halloween edition!) at the Field of Dreams off of First Street West behind the police substation and Depot Restaurant. These clinics will be run by our Competitive League coaches and we also plan to have some surprise guests from our local high school soccer teams! These clinics are for ALL PLAYERS – both recreational and comp players are welcomed and encouraged to attend.

We will be implementing appropriate COVID-related best practices and protocols for these clinics, including a maximum of 10 kids per session, check-in procedures which include confirmation of receipt of signed waivers, pre-clinic temperature checks, hand sanitizing stations, 6-feet distancing requirements at all times at the field (including during the clinics) and sanitizing of equipment before and after each session. All of our volunteer coaches and administrators as well as any spectators (children included) who will be on site during these clinics will be required to wear masks and adhere to all safety guidelines and protocol set forth by SVU and the County of Sonoma.

We are also asking that kids sign up for all four clinics so that we have continuity between and among our attendees from one week to the next. Spots are limited for each age group, we recommend registering as soon as possible.

The registration fee for all four sessions is $80 and includes a SVU t-shirt for every participant. Register your child here: https://sonomavalleyunited.org/registration/

Please note that we are not taking registrations for single clinics and will not be able to offer refunds if your child is unable to attend one of the sessions (except if we have to cancel due to county COVID-related or air quality reasons).

Registration will close on Sunday October 4th so that we have time to organize the age groups, assign time slots and put in our t-shirt order.

If you have any questions or comments please feel free to contact Joel Green at jgreen@sonomasoccer.org or Taryn Lohr at taryn@sonomavalleyunited.org

Thanks again for your support of Sonoma Valley United and our mission to give all children in our community the opportunity to experience this great game!
