Sonoma Valley United is thrilled to be offering a 1-day clinic with 2 professional players! Tommy Thompson, a midfielder for the San Jose Earthquakes, and Edwin Tenorio, a former midfielder for the Ecuador National Team and 2 World Cup wins along with SVU’s new Player Development Coach, Irving Ventura, will be running two-2 1/2 hour clinics on Sunday, February 27th at Adele Middle School for Sonoma soccer players.

Times: 2 Sessions (only one session per participant):

  • 9a-11:30a (for intermediate players)
  • 12:30p-3:00p (advanced players)

Co-Ed Ages: Birth year 2008-2015

Cost: $80 per participant

  • Technical focus
  • Tactical Education (positions, number system)
  • 1v1s, 2v2s, 3v3s
  • Positional Play
  • Fun learning environment for the kids

 

Coaches Information:

Tommy Thompson:
– Born in Hinsdale, Illinois but grew up in Sacramento, CA
– Played college soccer at Indiana University and was Big Ten Conference Freshman of the year in 2013
– Signed with the San Jose Earthquakes in 2014 and formerly is still playing with the San Jose Earthquakes
– Represented the Youth U.S. National Team U20
– Received the club San Jose Earthquakes Humanitarian of the Year in 2017 after leading a number of youth clinics in the area.

Edwin Tenorio:
-Born in Esmeraldas, Ecuador
– Started his career at 19 yers old with Club Aucas in his native country of Ecuador
– Played in Veracruz in the professional league of Mexico
– 2002 went back to his country in Ecuador to play at the famous club Barcelona SC
– In 2007 he played for another famous club in his country LDU Quito
– In 2009 he went to Colombia and played in the professional division club Deportivo Pereira
– Finished his career in 2012 with Grecia in his home country.
– Edwin represented his country Ecuador in 2 world cups in 2002 & 2006 and was a regular started in the world cups
– He participated in 3 Copa Americas (South America Cup)  2001, 2004, 2007
